GETTING HELP AND GIVING HELP 找人幫忙及幫助別人
( 2012-08-03 )

When you move to a new country, it is not uncommon that you will face many interesting challenges and perhaps some difficult situations. At times you may feel helpless, confused or lonely. Do not despair, since there are numerous community resources to help you overcome these problems. Churches, volunteer agencies and community centres are all good places for immigrants to get counselling if they have adjustment problems, marital difficulties or are lonely.
A good way to prevent such difficulties is to become actively involved in your community. It is fortunate that in Canada, most cities and towns offer a good variety of activities suitable for people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Choices range from classes in cooking, music, art, sports to English conversation. These programs are generally given through churches, community centres, YMCA, cultural centres or other volunteer agencies.
