Chaos at forum as raving teens corner Leung
( 2012-07-20 )

One day after he was sworn into (v. 梁振英) was cornered (v. 困住) for about an hour in a community (n.社區) center by a group of angry students.
Chaos (n.混亂) erupted (v.爆發) as Leung was attempting to soothe (v.平息) public anger by attending two forums (n.
As he was about to finish speaking at the second forum in a Tuen Mun (n.屯門) community hall, a female student walked behind him and raised a placard (n.標語牌) that accused (v.指責) him of "putting on a show (v.
Another student then walked up to Leung and handed over a petition (n.
They were then followed by about 10 members of the recently (adv.在最近) formed student group Scholarism (n.“學民思潮”) who shouted at Leung for supporting a "brainwashing (adj.洗腦的)" national education curriculum (n.課程).
As the group moved in on (v.從四面八方進逼) Leung, he tried to leave the hall escorted (v.護送) by security (n.保安) guards.
Leung took refuge (n.躲避) inside the community center, but when he tried to leave about an hour later he was surrounded by protesters (n.示威者), including 30 People Power (n.“人民力量”) members. Police had to hold back (v.阻擋) the crowd in order for Leung to drive away.

      1. chaos (n) /'keIɒs/,KAY-oss
      2. raving (adj) /'reIvIŋ/,RAY-ving
