A HK$27 million summer extravaganza (n.華麗的盛會), co-sponsored (v.合辦) by the Hong Kong (n.香港) Tourism Board (n.香港旅遊發展局) and Visa, will be rolled out (v.推出) later this month in an attempt to attract up to 12 million visitors.
The "Hong Kong Summer Spectacular (n.盛會)," with the theme (n.主題) "Hot Events Cool (adj.酷的) Place," begins on June 22 and ends August 31.
It is aimed at youngsters (n.年輕人), mainland (n.大陸) families and other short-haul (adj.短途的) markets such as Malaysia (n.馬來西亞), Taiwan (n.台灣), the Philippines (n.菲律賓) and Singapore (n.新加坡).
Among the main attractions (n.吸引人的事物) is a new Michael Jackson (n.邁克爾杰克森) wax figure (n.人像) at Madame Tussauds (n.杜莎夫人蠟像館) on The Peak (n.太平山).
Other events include the Dragon Boat (n.龍舟) Carnival (n.嘉年華), the opening of Bouncy (adj.彈跳的) Wetland (n.濕地) at Hong Kong Wetland Park this month, the Grizzly (n.灰熊) Gulch (n.急流峽谷) zone at Disneyland (n.迪士尼樂園), Polar (adj.極地的) Adventure at Ocean Park (n.海洋公園) next month and Summer Pop - Live in Hong Kong (n.“香港夏日流行音樂節”) in August.
Other summer events include the Tai O (n.大澳) Dragon Boat Water Parade (n.“龍舟遊涌”), Chinese (adj.中國的) Opera (n.戲曲) Festival, Lan Kwai Fong (n.蘭桂坊) Beer & Music Fest (n.節慶), Hong Kong Book Fair (n.展銷會) and Food Expo (n.博覽（會）).

香港旅遊發展局和Visa合辦了一個夏日華麗盛會，總值二千七百萬港元，將於本月底推出，希望借此吸引多達一千二百萬名遊客。
“香港夏日盛會”以“最火盛事．最酷香港”為主題，在六月二十二日展開，八月三十一日結束。
