Top-ranked (adj.最高級的) Tsinghua (n.清華) and Peking (n.北京) universities are among 63 mainland (n.內地) tertiary (adj.第三的) institutions (n.院校) that will accept Hong Kong (n.香港) students based (adj.根據……的) on their new secondary school examination results.
      Candidates (n.考生) sitting (v.參加考試) the Hong Kong Diploma (n.文憑) of Secondary Education examinations (n.香港中學文憑考試) and Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (n.香港高級程度會考) next year are eligible (adj.有資格的) for enrolment (n.註冊入學) under the pilot (adj.試驗的) scheme (n.計畫).
      The universities will consider the admission (n.取錄) of SAR (n.特區) students based on the local exam results - exempting (v.豁免) them from taking the Joint (adj.聯合的) Entrance Examination for Universities (n.普通高等學校聯合招生考試) in the mainland, the Ministry (n.部門) of Education announced.
      No such exemption (n.豁免) was granted (v.同意) for the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (n.香港中學會考), which was held for the last time this year.
      The institutions are located (adj.位於……的) in 11 provinces (n.省份) and municipalities (n.自治市), including Beijing (n.北京), Tianjin (n.天津), Shanghai (n.上海), Chongqing (n.重慶), Guangdong (n.廣東), Jiangsu (n.江蘇), Zhejiang (n.浙江), Fujian (n.福建), Hubei (n.湖北), Sichuan (n.四川) and Yunnan (n.雲南).
      The Ministry of Education and the Education Bureau (n.局) will jointly organize the 2011 Mainland Higher Education Expo (n.展覽) on December 10 and 11.

      內地六十三所高等院校，包括清華和北京等頂級大學，將會根據香港新的中學試成績來收錄香港學生。
      根據這項試驗計劃，明年參加香港中學文憑考試和香港高級程度會考的考生都有資格註冊入學。
       教育部宣布，各所大學將會根據香港考試成績，考慮取錄特區學生，豁免他們參加內地的普通高等學校聯合招生考試。今年舉行最後一屆的香港中學會考，則沒有獲得豁免。
      這些院校位於十一個省份和自治市，包括北京、天津、上海、重慶、廣東、江蘇、浙江、福建、湖北、四川、雲南。教育部和教育局將於十二月十至十一日聯合舉辦“2011內地高等教育展”。

      1. tertiary (adj)　/'t?捵:?瓿?瑆ri/，TER-sha-ree　第三的、第三級的
      解讀：在說明第幾、第幾級時，常有primary（第一（級）的）、secondary（第二（級）的）、tertiary（第三（級）的）這個分類；用於教育上，primary便是小學的，secondary便是中學的，而tertiary便是泛指高等的、大專的、大學的。
      2. pilot (adj)　/'pa?笈l?瑆t/，PIE-lut　試驗的、試點的
      解讀：pilot固然可作名詞，解作飛行員、領航員等，但它尚可作形容詞，解作試驗的，尤指小規模的；文中的pilot scheme是試驗計畫，又例如電台或電視台的pilot episode是系列節目試播的一集。
      3. exempt (v)　/?笈g'zempt/，ig-ZEMPT　豁免、免除
