Canada has three levels of government: federal, provincial and municipal. In the previous issue, we talk about the federal government.
PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT
The Lieutenant-Governor in each province is the Queen's representative.
The Provincial Government has around 75 members (although this number varies from province to province) who are elected by the people who live in that province. The head of the government is called the Premier.
Some of the responsibilities of the Provincial Government are education, child welfare, highways, health care and worker's compensation.
In the next issue, we will discuss the municipal government.
