There are a number of doctors practising in the medical building close to your home. Among them are general practitioners and specialists. You need a family doctor, so you select a general practitioner (GP) and phone to find out if he is accepting new patients.

      A: Dr Simpson's office. May I help you?
      B: Yes, this is Mr Yuri speaking. My family has just arrived in Canada. We need a family doctor and wonder if Dr Simpson is taking new patients.
      A: Yes, he is. How many people are there in your family?
      B: Just my wife and a two-year-old daughter.
      A: Let me make an appointment for you and your family to talk with Dr Simpson. Can you come this Friday at 2 p.m.?
      B: Yes, we can.
      A: We'll see you on Friday then.

      在你家附近的醫療大廈有很多醫生在那裏執業。其中有普通科醫生（General Practioners——GP）和專科醫生（Specialists）。你需要一位家庭醫生，便選了一位普通科醫生，打電話去問問他是否接納新病人。
