Shopping in Canadian stores is generally made easy and enjoyable for customers. There are numerous types of stores to choose from, such as department stores, superstores, specialty shops and discount stores. Many of these stores are housed together in what we call shopping centres or malls.
      Department stores carry a wide variety of articles, such as clothing, furniture, appliances, and groceries;  they  also provide a wide range of services. They are usually very large and are several storeys high. However, items can easily be located by looking at a directory, which lists the type of things you will find on each floor.
      Superstores and supermarkets are also very popular in Canada. They are usually one storey high, but carry a large variety of goods, similar to department stores. They have many different aisles and sections which have signs describing what you will find there. These stores offer self-service; you can select what you want and take it to the cashier for payment.
