Prepositions 前置詞

      Many learners find prepositions difficult to master. The following sentences show some of the mistakes ESL learners often make when using prepositions. There are three types of mistakes:
      (a) necessary prepositions omitted;
      (b) unneccessary prepositions used; and
      (c) wrong prepositions used.
      See if you can correct the mistakes.
      很多學英語的人覺得很難掌握前置詞，以下的句子是學員使用前置詞時常犯的毛病；毛病可分三種：
      (1) 要用而不用；
      (2) 不需要用而用；及
      (3) 用了錯的前置詞。

      1. There's little to talk.
      2. You shouldn't laugh him.
      3. I want to apply the vacancy.
      4. Please wait me here.
      5. I can't go tonight because I have to prepare my test.
      6. He insisted to pay the bill.
      7. We returned to home safely.
      8. Let's go to there tomorrow.
      9. When will you come to here again?
      10. He came here on yesterday.
      11. He is coming here on today.
      12. We congratulated him for his success.
      13. I don't care of it.
      14. I haven't seen him since two weeks.
      15. I am grateful to you of your kindness.
      16.According to my opinion, gambling should not be legalized.

      ANSWERS：

      5. I can't go tongiht because I have to prepare for my test. (Note: There is a differecnce in meaning between prepare something and prepare for something. For instance, The teacher prepared a test and The students prepared for the test.)
      6. He insisted on paying the bill.
      7. We returned home safely.
      8. Let's go there tomorrow.
      9. When will you come here again?
      10. He came here yesterday.
      11. He is coming here today.
      12. We congratulated him on his success.
      13. I don't care about it.
