APPLYING FOR A SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBER (S.I.N.)
      申請勞工保險卡號碼（即工卡號碼）

      You son has just recently turned sixteen. He wants to get a summer job and knows that most employers will ask him for his social insurance number. He asks you to pick up an application form for him at the local Canada Employment Centre.

      你的兒子剛滿十六歲。他想找一份暑期工。他知道大多數僱主會問他的勞工保險卡號碼，便請你替他在本地的加拿大就業中心拿取申請表格。

      A: I'd like to pick up an application for a Social Insurance Number for my son.
      B: What's the date of his birth?
      A: He was born on July 1st, 1973.
      B: Has he ever had an S.I.N. card before?
      A: No, this is the first time he's ever applied.
      B: Here's an application and a brochure that explains all the details. Tell your son to fill out the application and bring it back. Make sure he brings in the other documents listed in the brochure as well.
      A: How long will it take before he gets his card?
      B: He'll probably receive it in 3 to 4 weeks through the mail.

      甲：我想替我兒子拿一份勞工保險卡申請表格。
      乙：他的出生日期是哪天？
      甲：他在1973年7月1日出世。
      乙：他以前有沒有申請過工卡呢？
      甲：沒有，這是他第一次申請。
      乙：這裏有一份申請表和一份解釋所有細節的小冊子。你告訴你兒子填好這份表後帶回來。請記得他需帶同小冊子上列出的其他文件。
      甲：要等多久他才可以拿到工卡呢？
      乙：工卡會郵寄給他，他可能會在三四個星期內收到。

      (1) Social Insurance Number (S.I.N.) - 勞工保險卡號碼，或簡稱工卡號碼。政府很多文件或表格都需要你填寫此號碼。在加拿大找工作時也需要該號碼。
